Gruppo Sportivo viert zijn vijftigjarig bestaan en kondigt een afscheidstournee aan langs popzalen en festivals. Zanger en gitarist Hans Vandenburg meldt dat de band op een hoogtepunt wil stoppen met een laatste, onvergetelijke ronde. De band bestaat naast frontman Vandenburg uit zangeressen Lies Schilp en Inge Bonthond (de Bombitas), toetsenist Len de Quant, oerlid en drummer Max Mollinger, en bassist Tim Barning.
