1. What are cookies
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are used to keep track of your sign-in session, store preferences, or follow visitors. Under the e-Privacy Directive (and the Dutch Telecommunications Act), a website may only place functional cookies without asking for prior consent.
2. Which cookies does In the Sun use
In the Sun currently uses only functional cookies. We do not place analytics, marketing, social-media or advertising cookies, and we do not share data with third parties that place their own cookies.

Functional cookies are necessary to provide the service. No prior consent is required for them under Article 11.7a(3) of the Dutch Telecommunications Act.
3. What we don't do
We use no Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Mixpanel or similar tracking services. Should we ever introduce analytics, we will first ask for your explicit consent via a cookie banner and update this page.
4. How to refuse or delete cookies
You can always disable or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that disabling functional cookies means parts of the service, such as signing in to the Owner Dashboard, will no longer work.

- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies
- Firefox: Preferences → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
5. Changes
We may update this cookie policy, for example, when we add a new vendor or change functionality. The "Last update" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. For substantive changes (e.g. introducing analytics cookies) we will show a banner.
7. Storage in the mobile app
The In de Zon mobile app does not use cookies, but stores equivalent data using your phone's storage mechanisms (AsyncStorage and expo-secure-store): your login session, language preference, whether you have seen the welcome disclaimer, whether you have completed onboarding, and venues or events you saved while not signed in. If you subsequently sign in, these anonymously saved favourites are automatically linked to your account. You can prevent this by signing in before saving. All local data is not shared with third parties.
8. Domains
In de Zon sets cookies on indezon.app (marketing website) and dashboard.indezon.app (owner dashboard). Clerk session cookies are set on the relevant subdomain.
