The Jayhawks maken al meer dan 40 jaar muziek die de ziel van klassieke Amerikaanse songwriting ademt. Ze begonnen in het postpunk tijdperk in Minneapolis, waar bands als The Replacements, Hüsker Dü en Soul Asylum successen vierden. Ze waren pioniers in het voorschotelen van hun unieke mix van country, folk, soul, Britpop en rock ’n roll aan het rockpubliek van die tijd.
