Hij brak landelijk door via het SBS6-programma 'De Hollandse Nieuwe', waar zijn emotionele en humoristische uitvoering van 'Adio Amore' direct opviel. Zijn doorbraaksingle 'Veeg Ze Van Het Matje' groeide uit tot een volks-anthem. Momenteel is Chicco te zien in de realityserie 'Oh Oh Den Haag', die inzicht geeft in zijn leven en Haagse roots.
