The Afghan Whigs is een Amerikaanse rockband rond zanger en songwriter Greg Dulli. Sinds eind jaren tachtig combineert de groep alternatieve rock met invloeden uit soul en r&b. Dit resulteert in een herkenbaar geluid vol gruizige gitaren, dynamische arrangementen en emotioneel geladen songs. In 2026 keert de band terug met het tiende album ‘Soft Control’. Thema’s als ouder worden, zelfreflectie en acceptatie staan centraal. Meer dan dertig jaar na hun ontstaan blijft The Afghan Whigs hun geluid
