Long Play: Avalanches - No Bad Memories

Long Play is our event series that celebrates new and noteworthy releases and gives the album format the attention it deserves. We select an album that deserves our full attention and play it from front to back. We listen together in silence, and discuss what we heard afterwards. For this edition of long play we have picked The Avalanches 'No Bad Memories’, a new album inspired by the simultaneously magical and unsettling ways advertising, technology and pop culture become woven into the fabric of our memories. No Bad Memories is an ambivalent love letter to the nostalgic pull of commercial jingles, start-up chimes and forgotten audio logos. Featuring collaborators including Karen O, Jamie XX, Portraits of Tracy + many more.
